Welcome to Gurugopinath Natanagram

Guru Gopinath Natanagramam is an art institution established in 1995 in memory of Guru Gopinath. Natanagramam was established in the name of this great artist with the aim of providing the best education in art forms like music, dance, and instrumental music under one roof. This institution, which works under the Department of Culture, Government of Kerala, is located in Vattiyoorkavu, Thiruvananthapuram district.

Gurugopinath Natanagram Activities

The main activities of the Natanagram are training and promotion of dance forms including Kerala Natanam. In addition to the Natyotsavam, monthly dance programmes, and the presentation of art forms including traditional dances from other states, the college also organizes Kerala Natanam workshops, dance-related seminars and discussions, and provides training in classical music, musical instruments, and Otan Thullal.

The Natanagram has an excellent troupe that presents Kerala Natanam, Bharatanatyam, and Mohiniyattam. The National Dance Museum, which has been prepared to include dance forms from Kerala, India, and other parts of the world, is a major attraction here. The open-air theatre, Chilampoli Amphitheatre, is another major attraction of the Natanagram.
